Honeystack is for lovers

Tina Fey wrote a great line about lovers:

"That word bums me out unless it's between the words meat and pizza."

Using words like 'love' at work makes people uncomfortable. (Have you ever accidentally told your boss you love them?)

'Love' has many meanings and changes depending on the context. We love animals and we love our romantic partners. We demonstrate our love for each of them very differently.

Aquinas defined love this way: "To will the good of another."

By that definition, we love our clients, because we hope for your very best.

The best for:
Your cause.
Your organization.
You.

We go about that love by creating a space where your team can do exceptional work. We create rhythms of innovation that aren't random sparks of brilliance, but disciplined and repeatable. We help your culture make innovation routine. We'll hold you to a high standard and ourselves to a higher one.

Because we care.

If we are successful, we'll help you do the best work of your career for the cause you care most about.

Why do we focus on nonprofits?

Business is the sector of money.
Politics is the sector of power.
Nonprofits are the sector of love.

We want to spend time with people who care about the world and use their skills to make it better.

We want to work with the lovers.

Values

Be a true partner

We don't see our role as just delivering technology, but thinking alongside our partners to help them succeed. As true partners, we're interested in our clients' long term interests.

Hold the forest and the trees

We reject the binary that one must be either a big picture thinker or a "details person." We hold your vision in one hand and the specifics of how we'll execute in the other.

Say the hard thing

We share our thoughts directly (in loving kindness). We name challenges, surface assumptions, and speak up when something doesn't make sense–and trust our clients to do the same.

Clear the fog

Simplicity, structure, and clear thinking drive great work. We communicate in plain language and design systems that are easy to understand and use.

Study the craft

Technology and organizations are constantly evolving. We stay curious and actively track emerging practices from leading companies and industries, translating what we learn into your context.

Stay light, stay hopeful

We bring optimism and play into our work. We take your mission seriously, but not ourselves, because energy, humor, and hope help teams do their best work.

Our team

Technologists, designers, and nonprofit leaders who are passionate about mission-driven work.
